My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Named for her excellent puzzle solving skills and happy drools, meet Nancy Drool! The forever home investigation is officially underway, and this young, enthusiastic detective is on the hunt for suspects (her new family) with the help of her Clue Crew (the Adoptions team) at the paw-lice station (CHS). She knows it won`t take her long before she closes the case, but she needs your help to do it!

Nancy is full of life and love, and greets everyone she meets with a full body wag. She soaks up all the affection she can get, and will lean into your legs for more. Ms. Drool is a very well-behaved lady and is always eager to please. Whether she is learning a new trick or skill or perfecting one she already knows, she performs her best - especially if there`s a reward at the end!

We don`t know much about Nancy`s history, and it`s the only mystery about her we can`t quite solve. We are not sure how she`d do with other dogs, cats or small animals, but her friendly nature makes her a potential candidate for having furry friends! All introductions between her and other animals should be done slowly over time. We also don`t know how she`d do with kids, but she has not displayed any behaviour that indicates she wouldn`t enjoy having small humans around. All interactions with children should be supervised, especially with her larger size and excitement!

If you have been looking for the missing piece to your puzzle (or home), Nancy Drool may be the pup you`ve been searching for!

Nancy is:
- open to kids, unknown history
- open to cats, unknown history
- open to dogs, unknown history

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
