Looking for a perfectly behaved, low-maintenance cat? Yeah… Tigger is not that guy.
When Tigger first arrived, we’ll be honest — we were a little afraid of him. There may have been a couple of “welcome to the shelter” bites while everyone figured each other out. His world had been turned upside down after his owner passed away, and he understandably needed time to grieve and adjust.
But once Tigger decides you’re his person? Game. Over.
Underneath that spicy first impression is an incredibly affectionate, loyal, and loving cat who just wants to feel safe again. He bonds deeply. He trusts slowly. And when he does trust you, he becomes the sweetest, most devoted companion.
Important things to know about Tigger:
He takes time to warm up to new people.
He believes your morning coffee is a shared experience (mostly by knocking it over).
He sees your body not as furniture… but as a climbing structure.
Personal space? Never heard of it.
He will absolutely try to use you as his personal cat tree. He will attempt to cuddle directly in front of whatever you are doing. He will test your reflexes with beverages.
But he will also look at you like you hung the moon. He will seek you out for affection. He will love you with his whole complicated, dramatic, tabby-cat energy heart.
Tigger is not for the faint of heart. He needs a patient, cat-savvy home that understands trust takes time. In return, you’ll get a fiercely loyal, endlessly entertaining, deeply loving companion.
We think he’s worth the trouble.
If you do too, Tigger is waiting. ***Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet inquiries are not monitored by Elmore SPCA*** **Shelter hours are Monday - Saturday, Noon to 4pm**
**Applications, as well as personal references may be electronically submitted from our website at www.elmorespca.org/adoptionapp.html. ** >>Due to the heavy load of adoption applications received processing of applications can take up to 7-14 business days.
