Uma is looking for a fresh start after being surrendered due to severe allergies in her previous home. Change can be hard, and she’s still figuring out this whole shelter thing — but underneath that cool exterior is a cat who knows exactly what she likes.
Uma is an independent girl who prefers to be the queen of her castle. She does not enjoy sharing her space with other animals and would do best as your one and only. When around other cats, she can become overwhelmed and defensive, so a solo-pet home is a must.
With new people, Uma may start off a little standoffish — she’s a “earn my trust” kind of gal. But once she feels comfortable, she’ll happily show her affectionate side… on her terms, of course. She enjoys attention when she’s in the mood and absolutely lights up for laser pointer time!
Because she values her personal space, Uma is looking for a home without small children where she can relax without too much hustle and bustle.
She’s also a foodie at heart and will need to be fed on a measured schedule. Free feeding isn’t her friend — she’ll happily overindulge and make herself sick. With proper portioning, she does just fine. She uses clumping clay litter like a pro and has no litter box concerns.
Uma isn’t for everyone — and that’s okay. She’s for someone who appreciates an independent, playful, confident cat who wants companionship without constant cuddles. Give her space, respect her boundaries, and you’ll have a loyal little shadow who chooses you every day.
If you’re looking for a cat with personality and presence, Uma might just be your girl. --- The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center 848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603 Kennel #16516 717-917-6979 lancaster@pspca.org
