Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet Boy truly lives up to his name. He is gentle, affectionate, and has wonderful manners in the home. He walks nicely on leash, is both crate trained and house trained, and settles in easily.
He is a proud couch hog who will gently kick you to claim a little extra stretching room before rolling onto his back, tummy up, ready to relax. Sweet Boy loves to run or jog right alongside you and enjoys a good game of fetch when it is time to play.
He is also chill with resident cats and brings a calm, easygoing presence to the home. If you are looking for a loyal companion who is equal parts active partner and snuggle buddy, Sweet Boy is ready to meet you.
All adoptable pets are spayed/neutered (or scheduled), vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go home today! No pre-application or appointment needed—just bring a valid ID and walk in. Our adoption fees are among the lowest in Cincinnati!
To meet our animals, visit our Northside shelters any day from 1–6pm. If listed as foster, email foster@cincycare.org to schedule a meet and greet. Adopting an adult dog with resident dogs or kids at home? Bring them along to ensure it’s a perfect match.
About Us: Cincinnati Animal CARE proudly serves Hamilton County’s humane society needs, dog warden, and animal control services. We help keep people and pets together and connect strays with future families.

More about this shelter
Cincinnati Animal CARE is Hamilton County’s only open, stray-intake municipal animal shelter, dedicated to serving people and pets through lifesaving, compassionate, and community-centered care.
Who we are:
Cincinnati Animal CARE, also known as Cincy CARE, is Hamilton County’s only open, stray-intake municipal animal shelter responsible for the county’s dog warden and Animal Control services. As the sole taxpayer-funded provider of these services, we are committed to ensuring all animals in our community are valued, protected, and have a safe place to call home.
We are a dynamic and progressive organization aiming to deliver exceptional animal services to our community. We enforce animal laws and prioritize public safety while striving to be a community resource providing education and support to the people and animals of Hamilton County.
Our History
Cincy CARE assumed responsibility for Hamilton County animal services in August 2020, committed to the humane no-kill philosophy. The nationally recognized definition of no-kill is saving the lives of 90% or more of the animals that enter an animal shelter's doors. We believe that lifesaving is a community ethic and implement a collaborative, holistic approach to animal sheltering and Dog Warden services.
Cincy CARE provides temporary care to thousands of animals annually through dedication, hard work, and compassionate care. Our network is composed of an incredible group of animal welfare professionals and passionate volunteers, foster caregivers, and donors, without whom our work would not be possible.
Cincinnati Animal CARE Humane Society is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We rely on the generosity of individuals for support. Donations are tax-deductible under section 501(c)3 of the IRS code. Our tax ID number is 85-2177478.
