My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Percy is one brave little guy. At just 3 years old and 30 pounds, he’s already survived what most dogs could never imagine. Percy was found as a stray in Riverside after surviving a horrific coyote attack. His injuries were severe - deep lacerations on his head and neck, a ruptured eye, and hematomas on both ears. He had been out on his own for some time after the attack, and it’s clear he endured pain and neglect for far too long.

But here’s the incredible part: Percy never lost his spirit. Despite losing vision in one eye and having very limited sight in the other, he’s adapted beautifully. He navigates the world with confidence, curiosity, and a courage that will make you admire him instantly. Percy is full of joy, loves being near his people, and thrives on affection. Belly rubs? He’s all in. Rolling in the grass? Pure bliss. Treats? Watch him light up! He’s a little survivor who knows how to make the most of every moment.

Percy gets along well with other dogs, though introductions should be slow and calm. He would be perfectly happy as the only dog in a home, but with patience, he could adjust to a mellow companion. What Percy truly needs is a family who will be there for him, patient and loving, ready to share quiet moments, playtime, and all the snuggles he can handle.

Percy isn’t just a dog...he’s a hero. He’s survived unimaginable pain, adapted to a new way of seeing the world, and now he’s ready to give all his love to someone who will cherish him forever. If you’re ready for a loyal, gentle, and incredibly special companion, Percy is waiting to meet you and we promise, he’ll capture your heart the moment he does. Please inquire today!

More about this rescue

Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
