My name is Meena!

Meena is a beautiful solid black little lady who’s always curious about her surroundings, the world outside from the windows, her resident kitty friends, and new toys she can hunt! She has come a long way from her street life, and now enjoys nestling on the bed on my legs at night. She’s a sweetheart that is still cautious about her surroundings and strange noises, but she’s becoming more trusting and braver every day. She’s too shy to be held, but will accept the invites for nose boops and sneaks in leg rub drive- by’s, especially when she smells that soft food! Meena eats a diet of both soft food and small kibble because a few months ago, she had to have all of her teeth removed to prevent her from suffering terribly. She is so happy and healthy! You’d never know she was missing all of her teeth, and I know she feels so much better. She eats Hills Science Diet because it’s small for her. Imagine if she hadn’t been rescued? I’m so grateful she was with me!
Meena loves other kitties to snuggle and play with.?She looks up to them and watches how they like to be pet and close to me. I know she’s learning that it’s okay to not be afraid of people. Meena loves interactive toys and one on one playtime. She really needs that kind of attention from her forever home to be the best she can grow into. She has a giant personality inside of her that will make its way through her shyness one day. Sometimes I can get her into a small space and gently, quietly talk to her, gently pet her and her purr is so loud, she melts like butter, and wants belly rubs! I know one day it’s going to be a natural part of her life without any hesitation, she just needs a little patience and lots of love and dedication from her own family. Please make her dream come true and give her a beautiful home, a chance at life far away from the life that she started. I know she will make you so happy and she’s a beautiful girl to show off to your friends!

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives!

• $300 for purebred/highly requested kittens, 6 months or younger, such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coon mixes.  These 'guardian kittens' help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens.
• $200 for purebred/highly requested cats older than 6 months such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coone mixes.  These 'guardian cats' help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens.
• $200 for kittens (6 months & under)   
• $125 for cats (older than 6 months)   
• $75 for senior cats (8 years or older)

Our adoption process is:

1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet.

2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
