Nala has been waiting for her forever home since July 2024. This smart, well-mannered girl comes pre-loaded with all the basics: sit, down, inside, place, and she even mastered the doggy door at her foster home on day one. While in foster care, she’s shown herself to be potty trained, non-destructive when left alone, and sleeps soundly through the night on her bed (or yours, if invited). Whether she’s chewing on her favorite toys or relaxing nearby while you work, Nala is an easy, joyful companion.
With medium energy and a playful, affectionate personality, Nala is the perfect mix of fun and snuggles. She loves learning new things, responds beautifully to training, and will absolutely charm you with her signature “sploot crawl.” Though she was shy with new people at first, she’s made steady, heartwarming progress and now greets visitors with growing confidence. She’s a bright, trainable dog who thrives when included in the daily rhythm of home life.
After waiting so long, she’s more than ready for someone who will adore her as much as she’ll adore them. If you’re looking for a loyal, easygoing, and delightfully goofy best friend, Nala just might be the perfect match you’ve been waiting for.

Cincinnati Animal CARE, also known as Cincy CARE, is Hamilton County’s only open, stray-intake municipal animal shelter responsible for the county’s dog warden and Animal Control services. Cincy CARE assumed responsibility for Hamilton County animal services in August 2020, committed to the humane no-kill philosophy. The nationally recognized definition of no-kill is saving the lives of 90% or more of the animals that enter an animal shelter's doors. We believe that lifesaving is a community ethic and implement a collaborative, holistic approach to animal sheltering and Dog Warden services.
Cincy CARE provides temporary care to thousands of animals annually through dedication, hard work, and compassionate care. Our network is composed of an incredible group of animal welfare professionals and passionate volunteers, foster caregivers, and donors, without whom our work would not be possible.
