Dilly Dally is an adorable lovebird with a lot to say! She loves to chat with you through the cage bars or anytime you walk by her. She was reportedly bitey in her last home, so slow introductions are a must, and she would not be ideal in a home with kids. We are taking it slow at the shelter when it comes to interacting with her, so we don't have a full personality bio prepared, but we will update once we've learned more!
Though she was surrendered to us as a female, we do not have DNA confirmation of that, and lovebirds do not look different when it comes to males vs females, so this is not a promise. She was originally purchased from a pet store in Illinois around 2 years ago.
Lovebirds, along with other parrots, are extremely social creatures and do best with friends. Dilly Dally was reported to not get along with other lovebirds she lived with before, and attempted to fight both males and females, though we are unsure how the introductions went or how enclosure set ups were at the time of introduction, so it's hard to say if she would or wouldn't get along with other birds, but it was noted that she was very territorial.
Be sure to do plenty of research from multiple sources before considering adoption, as lovebirds need lots of care and attention and it may be more than expected!
