If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Meet Sweets, an 11-year-old Boxer/Doberman mix. On February 22, his owner suffered a medical emergency and sadly passed away a few days later, leaving Sweets without anyone to care for him. A neighbor found him an emergency foster, but that placement ends soon. Although his owner loved him deeply, Sweets spent his life indoors and had never been on walks or socialized with others. Since entering foster care, he has thrived—learning to walk on a leash, potty on grass, and greeting new people with gentle sweetness, tail wags, and kisses. He is house trained, calm, and takes treats very gently. He is incredibly friendly with people but he wasn’t socialized with other dogs, so he can be reactive on walks and would do best in a pet-free home or with someone experienced in training. He is neutered, microchipped, and overall healthy aside from a mild heart murmur common in senior dogs. Sweets is a loving boy who deserves a safe home filled with walks, toys, and kindness for his golden years.
