My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Steveanna was transferred in from another animal welfare organization on March 4, 2026.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Steveanna, a sophisticated lady who believes that the best friendships are built on a foundation of trust and quiet understanding. While she may initially act as a bit of a wallflower when meeting new people or navigating unfamiliar territory, her reserved nature is simply her way of taking in the world before she dives in. Steveanna will thrive in a home that can provide a dedicated, peaceful sanctuary where she can slowly acclimate and find her confidence away from the noise. If you grant her the patience to blossom at her own pace, she will reward your kindness with a lifetime of rhythmic, soft purrs and the most tender, leaning cuddles. For the adopter who knows that a slow-burn connection is the most rewarding, Steveanna is waiting to become the gentle heart of your home. Please bring a secure cat carrier for a safe ride home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
