Buba came to us as a stray, so we don’t know much about his past, but he’s been showing us more of his personality every day. When he first arrived he was a little shy, but once he settled in he quickly showed what a sweet and friendly boy he is. Buba has a playful side and loves spending time with his toys—especially when catnip is involved! He also enjoys attention from his people and will happily roll over for pets when he’s feeling relaxed and comfortable. Like many cats adjusting to a new environment, Buba would benefit from a slow introduction to his new home so he can settle in at his own pace. If you’re looking for a sweet, fun-loving companion who enjoys playtime and affection, Buba might be the perfect cat for you!
Ready to Adopt?
You have two options:
#1- VISIT IN PERSON
Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter.
(Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.)
#2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD**
If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours.
**Holds are not available on Saturdays and during adoption events.

All cat adoption fees include;
-spay/neuter
-rabies vaccine
-current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian)
-FeLV/FIV blood test
-microchip implanted & registered to the adopter
-treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites
-veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin
-free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians
Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
