One look from Cagey Joe’s slightly-crossed ice blue eyes, and you will be smitten. His long, gray lynx-point coat and bushy, expressive tail call out to be stroked. He appreciates pets and will sit with you on the couch, visit you in bed, and even follow you into the bathroom looking for caresses.
At a year old, Cagey Joe has all the teenage energy and funny antics that age is known for. He runs and plays with the other kitties in his foster home, chasing them up the cat tree, pouncing on them, and getting into wrestling matches. Besides his playmates, he likes to play with the usual cat toys: toy mice, wand toys, catnip bananas, tubes, and especially plastic springs.
Cagey Joe is wary of new situations and people, and he hides when he is unsure so he can observe safely. Loud noises and fast movements startle him, so he would do best in a home with older kids. He’s not bothered by nice dogs. He would do fine as an only cat but would love to be adopted with his brother. He will definitely need access to a safe place to play outside when he has bonded with home and family.
If you can give this sweetheart some time to adjust, he’ll be the sweetest boy for you!

More about this rescue
Clear Creek Cat Rescue is a group of individuals in Alaska dedicated to rescuing cats in need, giving them care, rehabilitation if needed, and finding happy homes for them. We each give what we can to help these cats get through this most unfortunate time in their lives when they have been taken to the pound or are otherwise lost and homeless. Some of us share our homes with these cats while they are waiting for their forever family, some transport them from place to place, some host adoption fairs, take pictures, post ads. Some offer financial help.
In 2020, we rescued and rehomed approximately 650 cats.
