You can try to resist this adorable little face, but why would you want to? Meet IRIS, a sweet, beautiful little beagle mix-type girl looking for a home. Iris is a gentle young soul, around 18 months old and fully grown at 26 pounds. Iris is a bit on the timid side and takes comfort in the companionship of other dogs. She came to us from a rural shelter with Ivy who we believe is her sister. We aren't sure what breeds make up the "mix" part of the beagle mix, but she has a medium length coat and her sister looks like she may be part Sheltie or Collie or Aussie. There are probably multiple breeds in the mix, but whatever she is she's a beauty. Iris is best suited to a home where she has another dog as a companion. If you'd like to meet Iris, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Iris at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30-1:30 at PetSmart Eastgate.

Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.

Our adoptable adult dogs go to prospective homes for a one week foster-to-adopt trial period.

Sign Adoption Contract

Upon completion of foster-to-adopt period, balance of adoption fee is paid, contract is signed and adoption is completed.

DOGS

We have two ways to adopt a dog:

1) Foster to adopt. You are permitted to take the dog home for a trial visit of up to one week at your home. We can loan you a wire crate for the trial period. This will help you determine if you and the dog are the right match. If yes, then the following weekend you can finalize the adoption at one of our adoption events. If no, then you return the dog to us at one of our adoption events and you are welcome to try a different dog. You will need to complete the necessary paperwork and pay a $100 deposit. The deposit will be applied to the adoption fee if you decide to finalize the adoption.

2) Outright Adoption. If you're sure you've found the right dog, you complete the necessary paperwork, pay the adoption fee in full (cash, check, or credit card only) and take the dog home. You receive all the dogs health records that we have available to us.

Our dog adoption fee is $225 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies. Fee INCLUDES: the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 6 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted.

Sweet Dream House Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit, no kill, all volunteer, all breed animal rescue. We utilize a network of foster homes to house our adoptable dogs and cats.

Our mission is to rescue homeless and abandoned animals, to spay/neuter, vaccinate and provide any needed medical care until they are adopted into loving homes. We are often the rescue of last resort, waiting until other rescues select from the euthanasia lists to rescue those that are not selected.
