We stop adoptions 30 minutes before close to give ample time to spend with the animal you are interested in and still have time to go over paperwork/medical history.
Adoption steps
- Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
- Meet the Pet
- For dogs, we require a meet n greet with any people or other dogs that would be living with the dog you are interested in adopting.
- Submit Application
- We approve applications on the spot! Be prepared to leave the facility with the animal you are interested in!
- Sign Adoption Contract
- Take the Pet Home

We are a government agency that enforces Michigan State Law, however, we do operate a shelter to house all the stray and relinquished animals from our service area as well as contracting with nine other municipalities to house and adopt their stray and relinquished animals.
