My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Garfield, a handsome 7-year-old (approximately) orange gentleman with a quiet soul and a heart full of love. This sweet boy may be a little shy when he first meets new people, but with a bit of patience and a calm environment, his affectionate personality begins to shine through.

Garfield enjoys the simple things in life-cozy naps in warm spots, gentle pets from someone he trusts, and peaceful time watching the world go by. Once he feels safe, he'll happily keep you company and show you just how sweet and loyal he can be.

At approximately 7 years old, Garfield is past the wild kitten stage and has settled into a calm, easygoing rhythm. He would likely do best in a quieter home with someone who understands that shy cats just need a little extra time and kindness to blossom.

If you're looking for a mellow companion who will reward your patience with soft purrs and quiet companionship, Garfield might be the perfect match for you. Come meet this charming orange boy and see if he's the missing piece of your home.

If you think Garfield would be the purr-fect addition to your home then apply using the link below!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
