Winter can be unkind to creatures living outdoors, and Penelope bore witness to that. Rescued from the streets of Hamilton, this sweet, brown tabby made her way to EHS along with other fellow wanderers. She is currently recovering, and adjusting to life indoors in one of our foster homes while she waits to be welcomed into a forever family.
ABOUT PENELOPE - In foster - Penelope spent her first days tucked away in spots she deemed to be safe. She is now beginning to emerge from under the cabinet in the foster room when tempted by tube treats and playing a video of a cat meowing. Could food be one way to this girl’s heart? - The window sill seems to be the place of choice when she feels brave enough to “come out of hiding.” There is so much to see! - Her foster mom describes Penelope as “sweet but scared; everything is just so new.” - She will accept pets when she is under the cabinet—she is so gentle. Each day she seems to be getting braver. - Penelope has a really loud purr and loves to make biscuits from the safety of her hiding spot. - Penelope is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and up to date on core vaccinations.
PENELOPE’S IDEAL HOME - Penelope is a gentle cat and would likely do best in a calm environment. - As we get to know Penelope, we will be able to better identify her ideal home. - Her past remains a mystery, so at this point her comfort level with other animals is unknown.
Penelope is patiently waiting to meet her suitor. Could you be the one she has been looking for? A meet and greet is just a click away. Apply to adopt Penelope today!
