My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Truman, a true "diamond in the rough" who has journeyed from the tough streets of Memphis to HART of Maine to find his person! When Truman was first rescued, he was a shadow of the cat he is today—sick, exhausted, and weary from a life of struggle. As an unneutered, FIV+ stray, it was clear he hadn’t known much kindness or comfort in his past.
But what a difference love and indoor-living make! Now healthy, neutered, and thriving, Truman has absolutely blossomed into a big, goofy ham. He has traded his street-smart survival instincts for a playful spirit and a genuine love for people. He is incredibly grateful for every head scratch and warm bed, showing his appreciation with a personality that fills the room.

Because of his years spent defending himself outdoors, Truman can be a bit selective with other cats; however, we can see him being a good match for a home with a cat-friendly dog. If you’re looking for a loyal, resilient companion who truly understands the value of a second chance, Truman is ready to be your best friend! This grateful boy has so much love to give—he just needs the right forever home to share it with.
