Meet Sammy

Hi, I’m Sammy — a true gentleman with a sweet personality and a soft spot for people.

I love being close to my humans and getting attention, but I’m very quiet and polite about asking for it. I’ll gently rub against you and look up with my beautiful light-colored eyes as if to say, “Excuse me… may I have a little love?” Sometimes I’ll even stretch up and touch your cheek with my paw to let you know how much I care.

While I’m a calm and affectionate boy, I definitely have a playful side too. Every now and then the “all boy” energy kicks in and I love to wrestle with the other kitties in the house or hide and surprise them during playtime. I’m also perfectly happy entertaining myself with catnip toys.

I get along well with other cats and even enjoy the company of my foster family’s big dog, so I could do well in a home with other friendly pets.

I’ve had a bit of a rough start in life, but now I’m ready for the happy chapter — finding a forever family where I can feel safe, loved, and truly at home.

Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.

The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. Submit Application

Please complete an Adoption Inquiry Form on our website (www.rescuecrew.org) if you are interested in meeting one of our adoptable pets.

Approve Application

Once submitted, one of our volunteer Application Processors will conduct necessary background/landlord/vet and reference checks.

3.
Meet the Pet

Once your application has been processed and approved, it is forwarded along to the pets foster caregiver for review and to reach out to you

Additional adoption info

We want to be sure that the adoption process is as smooth and positive an experience as possible. Our animals are in foster homes and we do everything we can to learn as much about their likes and dislikes, temperament and activity level as we can while in our care. By doing so, it enables us to work more closely with a potential adopter to help ensure a "good fit." The adoption process might take a bit longer than adopting from a shelter, but our ultimate goal is finding a match that benefits not just the animal, but also the family interested in adopting.

We are looking to let our adopters chose the speed of the adoption process. To start the process, we require that an adoption application be completed. Once submitted, we will connect with you to discuss the type of animal you're looking for, your lifestyle and home environment, and what the best fit may be. At times, we may request to conduct a home visit, which can often be done in tandem with what we refer to a "meet and greet" where you have the opportunity to meet and interact with the animal(s) you're interested in adopting. Ad part of our process we conduct background check on all applicants, will check personal and vet references also. Our goal is always the proper placement for any adopted animal, which may mean that the animal you originally are interested in may turn out to not be the best fit, but we will work with you to find a better match. Adoption fees include spaying/neutering of all animals, age appropriate vaccinations ad microchipping and range anywhere from $80-$175 for cats and $200-$450 for dogs.

Prior to finalizing adoptions we require a signed Contract & Agreement which includes an understanding that if for any reason the animal does not work out that you will return them back to The Rescue Crew.
