This 3-year-old, 30 lb gentle soul came into the shelter as a stray, and the noisy, overwhelming environment has left him feeling scared and unsure. But underneath that fear is a very sweet boy who just wants to feel safe.
Rich enjoys soft, gentle pets and will lean in quietly for affection once he realizes you mean him no harm. He may startle easily right now, but that’s simply because the shelter is a frightening place for a sensitive dog.
Despite everything, Rich is dog friendly and walks well on a leash, showing that he truly has the potential to be a wonderful companion once he’s given time to decompress in a calm home.
What Rich needs most is patience, kindness, and someone willing to give him the chance to build confidence and trust. Dogs like Rich often blossom beautifully once they are out of the shelter and feel safe again.
Right now, though, Rich’s time is running out.
He urgently needs someone willing to give this gentle boy the opportunity to leave the shelter alive.
