My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Corky is a happy, healthy, playful and very smart 15-pound male beagle with rat terrier mixed in. Even though he is 5 years old, everybody sees his boundless energy and thinks he is still a puppy! Which is why we, ages 75 and 76, can not keep up with him any more.

The Corks loves people of all types and other dogs. He needs a home with at least one very active adult and/or children to horse around with so he can get the exercise and activity he needs. He loves to track scents, go on long walks, hike and run. Because he is alert to every noise, he can not live in an apartment. Is well-behaved unless bored, when he has to be reminded the garbage can or food left out on counters is off limits. His goofy nature keeps people laughing.

Corky would THRIVE with another dog in the household. Can be left alone for a couple of hours if gated in one room like we do, but he will howl if it is much longer...although this could easily change if he had a companion dog.
