My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tantor!
At just 20 years young, Tantor is a one-of-a-kind cat with a huge personality and an even bigger heart. His favorite hobbies include sleeping, eating, and batting around his beloved string wand like the champion he is. When playtime is over, you’ll often find him snoozing on his back like a little “dead bug,” with his arms and legs in the air—one of his many adorable quirks.
Tantor walks a little crooked thanks to spinal arthritis, but that doesn’t slow him down or dull his spirit.
Tantor prefers to be the center of attention in his home, so he’s looking for a family where he can be the only cat. His very best friends are his humans, and he bonds deeply with the people who care for him. Because of his age, Tantor eats wet food only (though he will occasionally accept a crunchy treat)
Tantor’s journey to safety is nothing short of incredible. He was discovered by firefighters in the basement of a home after a devastating house fire had completely destroyed the main level. When they found him, he was unconscious—but after receiving oxygen, this brave boy woke up and started fighting his way back.
Thankfully, he pulled through like a champion. Sadly, he couldn’t return to his previous home after the fire, so he came to Whiskers. Now Tantor is safe and looking for a loving home where he can spend his days surrounded by his favorite things: cozy naps, tasty meals, a good string wand, and the humans he loves most.
