My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Xander, a handsome grey tabby with a sweet, friendly personality that makes him easy to adore. He loves showing affection by rubbing up against you and starting up his impressively loud purr. Xander will occasionally chat with you, as if he’s making sure you know exactly how his day is going. One of his cutest habits is hopping up onto your shoulder and either staying there or settling into your arms just to hang out for a while. When he’s not keeping you company, he’s perfectly happy curled up in a cozy little cat bed, dreaming away until it’s time for more cuddles. Curious and affectionate, this darling boy is ready to find his forever home.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

It is important to keep in mind that no animal is ever truly free, despite what classified ads in the paper may try to tell you. With any animal, there are costs associated with regular vet care, vaccinations, food, and numerous other things that any responsible pet owner must keep in mind.

Adoptions with the Saskatoon SPCA represent an excellent value, with all dog and cat adoption packages including the following:

• Microchipping of the animal, which is the procedure with which a small, scannable chip is inserted under the animal's skin, providing an additional form of identification
• The spay or neuter of the animal, if they enter the shelter unaltered
• Six weeks of Petsecure pet insurance
• A complimentary veterinary health examination at the local participating clinic of their choice
• Age appropriate vaccinations, up to the point of adoption
• Any medications required prior to adoption

The prices to adopt, including taxes, are as follows:
Cats - $190.00
Dogs - $228.50
Puppy or Desirable Breed Dog - $278.50
Desirable Breed Puppy - $328.50

These prices represent an incredible value to any potential adopter. Were someone to obtain all of the services and perks provided with the Saskatoon SPCA adoption package, the final bill may be as high as $900, and that doesn't even include the animal itself!
