Meet Saleme, a stunning 1-year-old long-haired beauty who is ready to prove that first impressions aren't always the whole story. While she was surrendered due to reported litterbox issues, Saleme has been a model citizen since arriving at HHHS, showing us that with the right environment, she truly shines!
Saleme is the definition of a "people cat." Forget hiding in the back of the kennel-this girl is front and center, rubbing against the door and sweetly demanding your attention. She is incredibly relaxed with all body handling. Whether you're grooming her luxurious long fur or carrying her around the room, she stays perfectly chill.
Despite her previous notes, Saleme has been polite with her kennel neighbors. She's given several cats "friendly sniffs" through the kennel doors and remains unbothered by the shelter hustle. We always encourage adopters to take it slow when introducing any new cats to the resident cats - cats don't have a time frame on when they can be acquainted. Saleme has been using her litterbox consistently here at the shelter. It's very likely her past "mistakes" were simply due to stress from the other animals or other environmental factors.
The cat we see every day is confident, affectionate, and remarkably well-adjusted. She is looking for a home that understands she just needs a clean space and a little bit of love to be her best self.
Note to Adopters: While we always recommend a slow introduction to new spaces and monitoring her bathroom habits, Saleme is acting like an absolute superstar here! Primary Color: Black W/white Weight: 6.06 Age: 1yrs 0mths 1wks
