If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Mal is a shy but sweet almost two year old girl. I got her from the humane society when she was a kitten. Recently, the apartment and her cat roommate have become very scary for her. She has become sound reactive, afraid of things (holding up a blanket or approaching with an object), and sometimes can’t tell friend from threat. She does not attack when scared but will yowl and require alone time to reset. The vet gave her a clean bill of health when this started a month ago. She stays in my room away from the other cat currently. She loves looking out my window while resting on her favorite blanket. She is very into cuddles and is playful when calm. She loves wand toys, little mice toys, and chasing toys. Currently, calming medicine, pheromones, and space have helped but she is still reactive. I do not have the space or resources to continue figuring out why she has become such a scaredy cat. She needs a calm home with ideally no other animals until she settles in.
