My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gem is a shy sweetheart who just needs a little time to let her true personality shine. Once she feels safe, she becomes affectionate and isn’t afraid to ask for attention—especially if snacks are involved! She has plenty of playful kitten energy and loves spending time with her sisters. With patience and love, Gem will blossom into a loyal and loving companion. She should be adopted with Amber, and does well with small dogs and other cats.

These girls share a special bond and will do best in a home that understands shy kitties and is willing to give them the time they need to feel safe. In return, you’ll be rewarded with playful moments, sweet companionship, and the joy of watching their personalities blossom.

If you’re ready to open your heart and home to Amber and Gem, they’re ready to steal your heart.

Please contact their foster at mariward@comcast.net for further info.

More about this rescue

H.A.L.O. is the East Contra Costa County Homeless Animals' Lifeline Organization, better known as H.A.L.O. We are a nonprofit, all volunteer, 501c(3) charitable organization who assists dogs, cats and their owners in Eastern Contra Costa County.
We rescue approximatly 500 animals a year, all by volunteers, all in our homes and in our hearts.
We are not a shelter,
We have grant funds for the spaying and neutering of East County ferals and food for them if needed.
We have a program called "Angel Ears" where certified dogs and their trainers go to the local libraries and the children read to the dogs. This has proven a very effective way to increase reading skills rapidly. We also take the dogs to senior facilities.
We are in need of volunteer in many capacities.
