My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello friends,
My name is Zhelda, and let me tell you-I am extraordinary. I'm about 12 years young, incredibly beautiful, and if I do say so myself... just a little bit special.
You see, fabulous felines like me sometimes develop a few "medical quirks" as we age. Luckily, mine is very manageable. I have something called hyperthyroidism, which means I'll need to take medication for the rest of my life and my new family will need to ensure my meds are working thru having blood work done.
If you're comfortable helping me stay healthy-and you don't mind my glorious golden hair decorating your home like nature's finest confetti-then we just might be a perfect match.
If I've captured your heart, please fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire or come meet me in person, Tuesday to Saturday from 1-4 pm. I'll be waiting, looking fabulous as ever.
With love,
Zhelda

Go meet their pets

The Chilliwack Branch is an Animal Protection Centre for pets who have been rescued from abusive or neglectful homes. The Centre is open to the public by appointment only due to the security issues associated with housing animals awaiting the outcome of legal proceedings. We will accept surrendered animals by appointment only, and we are open for adoptions on special occasions.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
