Lucky – Black Male, 3 Years Old, 53 lbs

Lucky truly earned his name.

He was found abandoned on Hwy 165 and picked up by a Deputy. It was lucky he hadn’t been hit by a car, lucky he made it safely to the shelter, and even luckier that he was rescued by the Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno.

Lucky may think he’s the lucky one to have landed in a loving foster home—but we think we’re the lucky ones to have such an incredible dog. His foster mom says Lucky is one of the best-behaved dogs to come through her home in the last 11 years!

At 3 years old, Lucky is happily past the destructive puppy stage. He already knows sit, stay, wait, and come, and his leash skills continue to improve with every outing. He has wonderful house manners and enjoys playing with his foster fur-brother in the backyard, where the occasional 90-mph zoomies break out.

Lucky will happily fetch a ball and bring it back a few times, but his real favorite activity is simply being with his people—especially when belly rubs and pets are involved.

Lucky is:

• Crate trained

• House trained

• Good with small and large dogs

• Good with kids

• Cats unknown

Energy Level: About a 3 out of 10 – a great companion for a family looking for a calm, well-mannered dog.
