Sashi is a confident, affectionate cat who isn’t shy about asking for the attention she deserves. She’s friendly, outgoing, and very people-oriented. If she decides it’s time for pets, she’ll happily come over and make sure you know it.
She absolutely loves being brushed and will lean right into it while soaking up the attention. Like many cats, she’s also good at setting boundaries and will politely let you know when she’s had enough. When she’s not getting pets, you’ll often find Sashi perched proudly on the top of her cat tower, keeping an eye on everything happening around her.
One thing that really makes Sashi special is how much she loves dogs. In fact, she’s so comfortable with them that she’s the cat we use at the shelter to help test dogs for cat-friendliness. She’s calm, confident, and completely unbothered by canine company.
Sashi would do wonderfully in a home that enjoys an interactive, affectionate cat who likes being involved in daily life. If you’re looking for a social companion who will happily hang out nearby and remind you when it’s time for attention, Sashi may be the perfect match.

The Michigan Animal Rescue League (MARL) is one of southeast Michigan’s most established animal shelters, serving the community since 1953. Our history and experience combined with constant evaluation of trends in animal welfare and sheltering have made us a necessary and respected asset within our community. As, “A Different Breed of Shelter” we challenge the stereotypes of traditional animal shelters and believe that the, “Quality of the Wait,” can make all the difference in the future of an animal.
Our Mission
The Mission of the Michigan Animal Rescue League is to provide the highest quality of life to dogs and cats through rescue, medical care, socialization and behavioral support, short- and long-term sanctuary, adoption, and community education and outreach.
