Meet the Pet
This helps Poodle and Pooch Rescue with pet care costs.
Hi, I’m Slinky. I’m a 1½yearold, 16pound terrier with a big personality in a small, wiggly package. I’m playful, curious, and always up for fun—especially if toys are involved. Once I’ve had my zoomies, I’m a sweet snuggler who loves being close to my people.
Favorite Things: Slinky is a toy enthusiast through and through and loves any game that lets him run or show off his athletic streak. He enjoys perching on the back of the couch to supervise the world and happily settles in for cuddles when it’s time to relax.
Training & Manners: He’s housetrained with regular potty breaks and walks nicely on a leash, though passing cars can make him do a little “whoa!” hop, so a fenced yard helps him feel brave. He snoozes in his dog bed at night and is learning his basic cues. When excited, he can be a bit jumpy and mouthy; more goofy than anything, thanks to his underbite. Gentle guidance will help him continue to grow up well. He tolerates car rides and may pant a bit before settling in.
Health & Care: Slinky is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Like all dogs, he’ll need monthly preventatives. He looks sharp with occasional brushing, baths and a quick trim around his face.
Other Animals: He does well with dogs of all sizes. He hasn’t met cats yet, but his temperament suggests he may do fine with a slow, thoughtful introduction.
Children: Slinky is best suited for homes with older kids (8+) who understand playful, energetic dogs.
Ideal Home: Slinky needs a singlefamily home with a secure, fenced yard. He’s a bit of a doordarting optimist, so a contained space keeps him safe. He prefers someone home often and may cry a little at first when left alone but settles once he knows everything’s okay. He thrives when he can move around freely and be part of the household bustle. A patient, active family who enjoys training and playtime will help him shine.
Overall: Slinky is an affectionate, spirited little dog who brings joy wherever he goes. He’s smart, athletic and full of personality, with a cuddly side that appears once he’s had his fun. With continued guidance and a family who appreciates his quirky charm, Slinky will be a loving, entertaining companion.
