Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Coal, a quiet and gentle soul looking for a calm home where he can take life at his own comfortable pace. This handsome black cat is sweet, independent, and a little shy, but he has a peaceful presence that makes him a lovely companion for the right household.
Coal is more of a night owl and tends to feel safest tucked inside his cozy box during the day. When the house settles down, he’ll quietly venture out to explore and even enjoy some playtime. He’s a low-energy guy who prefers a relaxed environment where he can observe the world and warm up gradually.
He gets along well with other cats and would especially enjoy living with another young, playful feline who can help show him the ropes and build his confidence. Coal hasn’t met dogs while in rescue and would likely do best in a quieter home without them. Older, cat-savvy kids who understand respectful boundaries would be fine, but very young children would be too much for this sensitive boy.
Coal is fully litter trained and prefers minimal handling while he continues to build trust. With patience, kindness, and a peaceful home, this gentle couch-potato kitty will blossom into a loyal and comforting companion. 🖤🐾
Coal is FIV positive — which simply means his immune system is a little weaker than average. With a healthy diet, regular vet care, and a stress-free indoor life, FIV+ cats can live just as long and happy as any other kitty. FIV spreads only through deep bite wounds, not through playing, sharing food or water, grooming, or snuggling — so he can safely live with other friendly cats.
Coal is fixed, microchipped, FeLv negative, and up to date on vaccinations for his age.

Twin Cities Pet Rescue (TCPR) is a small, 501c3 nonprofit, companion animal rescue organization. TCPR does not have a facility and is 100% foster-based. TCPR rescues dogs, cats and small animals of all breeds; rescuing them from city impounds, puppy mills, and other situations of abuse and neglect. Once rescued, all animals receive veterinary care ranging from spay/neuter, vaccines, microchips, and basic testing to specialty eye surgeries, pet dermatology care, and various other specialty treatments. Once an animal is rescued by TCPR, it remains in a foster home until adopted, no matter how long that might take.
TCPR often rescues animals that are considered “less adoptable” by other rescue organizations, as they are often the ones overlooked and truly left behind; and in need of the most help. These animals might be overlooked due to their age, health status, special needs or breed. TCPR works to help as many animals in need find their furever families as we can, especially helping those animals that need help most.
