If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Hilda was found as a stray in Chicago and was adopted from a Chicago shelter. She is estimated to be 5 years old and certainly has a playful energy about her.
The best way to describe Hilda is an extremely sweet and cuddly cat who loves people. She never bites or scratches, and likes to approach new people right away. She enjoys finding cozy places to nap during the day, but is also very affectionate, and loves spending time with her owner.
Hilda has feline hyperesthesia, a common and treatable condition in cats that can cause episodes of sensitivity or discomfort. Without medicine, she will exhibit symptoms and sometimes pee outside of her litter box. She does very well when given oral gabapentin daily to manage symptoms.
I am entering a new chapter in my life that includes moving, and I want to make sure Hilda finds a home with someone experienced who can manage her medication and give her the care she deserves. Feel free to reach out if you’re interested in meeting her.
