My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mr. Socks has quite the story. He was originally released on someone’s property, arriving scared and unsure of the world around him. Thankfully, the property owner showed him patience and kindness, giving him the time and space he needed to feel safe. Once he realized he was finally in a place where he could relax, his true personality started to shine.
Mr. Socks is a very calm, easygoing guy who loves nothing more than a cozy spot to curl up in. He especially adores his female caregiver and can often be found happily sitting in her lap, soaking up the love and attention. He does not mind men but loves
Mr. Socks is FIV positive, but this doesn’t change who he is as a cat. Many FIV+ cats live long, happy lives and can safely coexist with other cats, especially in calm households.
You may also notice a cloudy spot on his left eye. This is simply an old scar and doesn’t require any treatment. It causes only a small amount of vision loss and doesn’t slow him down one bit.
Mr. Socks is a gentle, loving boy who just wants a soft place to land after his wild journey to us. If you’re looking for a sweet companion who will happily keep your lap warm, Mr. Socks might be your perfect match. 🐾
His adoption fee is $100.

All cats adopted through our rescue are age appropriately vaccinated including rabies & FVRCP/Feline Leukemia vaccines, dewormed & free of fleas, combo tested (negative unless otherwise noted), microchipped and spayed/neutered before adoptions are finalized. We also have a cat cafe full of friendly, furry faces -- Whiskers Catnip Cottage in Granville!

If you would like to adopt, please fill out the application through the link or the website at www.whiskersofohio.org. You will receive an email confirmation when your application is received; if you do not, please double check that all questions on the application were answered and that your email is correct! We make no breed guarantees; we are a rescue, not a breeder. Please apply only if you are committed to adopting! Our workers are all volunteers and it takes time to process applications. We are a registered, volunteer run 501c3 non-profit organization.

We do have the ability to fly a cat or pair of kittens via Southwest's SWATT program to any location served by Southwest Airlines. It isn't free but has been a great way to transport animals in a timely manner.

We are a central Ohio nonprofit rescue, with the hopes of rehoming animals in need, helping those with medical needs that would otherwise be euthanized, and supporting local TNR efforts to reduce the numbers of unwanted/homeless animals being born.
