**Suede** 🐾

Suede is a **9-year-old black cat** with the soft, quiet presence of a little shadow. With her dark coat and bright eyes, she has that classic “void” look where she seems to appear and disappear depending on the light.

She’s a **sweet but shy girl** who tends to hang back and observe before deciding the world is safe. Suede often prefers a cozy hiding spot where she can watch what’s going on around her. Once she feels comfortable, she enjoys gentle company and especially seems to **take comfort in being around other cats**.

Suede would do best in a calm home with patient people who understand that some cats just take a little time to settle in. Given that space and kindness, she’ll be a quiet companion who’s simply happy to share the room with you. 🐾

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fees for dogs includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, de-wormer, flea and tick prevention, heart worm prevention, heart worm tested, and microchip registration.

Adult Dogs: $200
Puppies: $225

Cat adoption fees include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, de-wormer, FIV/FeLV testing, flea and tick prevention, and microchip registration.

Adult Cats: $75 (or $125 for a pair)
Kittens: $90 (or $150 for a pair)

Since 1979, the Effingham County Humane Society has been committed to serving Effingham County, IL and the surrounding area. We are located in the former Funkhouser School, and our non-profit shelter is sustained by volunteers, fundraising, contributions, and adoption fees.

The goal of the Effingham County Humane Society is to reduce animal suffering in our county through educating and promoting responsible pet ownership, including spaying/neutering pets, appropriate pet identification, proper pet care, and the quality adoption of homeless pets.
