If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Caribou came into our lives at an ASPCA Tats N Tails adoption event in the Lower East Side back in 2016, and she's been a quiet, graceful presence in our home ever since. Now 10 years old, she's the kind of cat who moves through a room like she owns it, curious about everything but always on her own terms.
She's on the shy side at first, but give her a few minutes and she'll warm up. Once she feels safe, she loves to be petted in her favorite spots, like her cat bed or tower are her sanctuaries. She's as quiet as a mouse and still has plenty of spark: she genuinely loves playing with her toys and gets excited for wet food and treats.
Caribou would thrive in a calm, patient home where she can take her time getting comfortable. She doesn't need much, just someone who will meet her where she is.
