Aurora was rescued after being abandoned in a rental unit, where she went without food or water for a full week. Her microchip dates back to 2020, so she’s at least five years old. Understandably shaken, Aurora was shy and hissy when she first arrived in her TC Paw foster home—but with time, patience, and care, she has truly begun to shine.
Aurora is very friendly—on her terms. When she’s not in the mood to snuggle, she’ll give a clear, vocal warning to let you know. The rest of the time, she is incredibly affectionate and grateful, offering snuggles and post-meal “thank yous” that her foster mom says make her one of the most appreciative cats she’s ever met.
She loves wet food and head pets and enjoys the comfort of a calm, predictable routine. Aurora does well with the children (ages 7–14) in her foster home. She doesn’t get along with an aggressive male cat who doesn’t respect her boundaries, but since she arrived with another cat, we believe she could adjust well to a calm feline companion with a proper introduction.
Because sudden movements can startle her, Aurora would prefer a quiet home with older children. She’ll do best with an experienced cat adopter who understands that her hissing and growling—while sometimes intimidating—are protective responses shaped by past trauma. With space, patience, and love, these behaviors have already improved and are expected to fade as she settles into her forever home.
Aurora is a true sweetheart who simply needs time, understanding, and a peaceful place to feel safe again. Her foster family welcomes home visits to meet Aurora where she is most comfortable.
