Meet Broccoli Rob, the little survivor with the softest heart.
Broccoli Rob’s story started a bit rough, but this sweet boy has proven he’s tougher than he looks. This handsome brown ticked tabby (with barely a stripe in sight) began life as part of a TNVR colony kitten group. Somewhere along the way he made the questionable culinary decision to snack on litter (0/10, do not recommend), which landed him in the shelter clinic. After healing from that, he battled a nasty upper respiratory infection and beat that too.
While Rob was recovering, one by one his siblings were adopted, leaving him behind. The shelter got quiet, and Rob, who had already been through so much, started to feel a little lost. Luckily, his personal volunteer advocate saw his potential and helped him land somewhere safe and cozy. After another short stint of recovery time, Broccoli Rob graduated to the free roaming cat room where he is now living his best life and slowly discovering that people can be pretty wonderful.
At first, Rob may hang back and observe you like a tiny brown detective. New places make him a little nervous, and he is still learning that carriers do not always mean a trip to the vet. But give him about a day or two, add a generous amount of baby talk, cheek scratches, and treats,, and you will see him melt into the gentle, affectionate kitty he truly is. Once he feels safe, he is on his way to becoming your loyal little sidekick.
This boy is a lounger. Think hammock naps, cozy cave beds, and peaceful hangout sessions. He is quiet and polite and not much of a meower, but his purr motor works beautifully. When he is feeling playful, he absolutely loves batting around ping pong balls, springs, and coil toys. Fuzzy mice are banned from his life after he once ate the tail of one. Rob has some unique taste!
Food is another way to his heart. Rob loves wet food, treats, and snack time in general, and he is perfectly happy grazing throughout the day. He is also an enthusiastic litter box digger who is currently learning the fine art of not launching litter across the room. Progress is being made.
Broccoli Rob would likely do well as a single kitty where he can bond closely with his human, though he will need someone patient at first while he settles in. He is friendly with adults and strangers once he warms up, and with gentle, cat savvy kids he should do just fine.
After everything he has been through, Rob is not asking for much. Just a soft place to land, a steady routine, and a person who will remind him every day that he is safe and loved.
If you are looking for a quiet little companion who will go from shy admirer to devoted best friend, Broccoli Rob is ready to meet you!
