Heidi makes every day feel like a holiday. She is a 1-2 year old, medium sized, mixed breed. If we had to guess we would say she’s part dog, part professional greeter, and full time comedian. Every single photo of Heidi shows her grinning ear to ear, like she just heard the best joke ever and can’t wait to share it with you. Her favorite hobby? Hugs! Heidi believes very strongly that all greetings should include a full embrace. If you stand still for even a moment, she’ll politely (and enthusiastically) jump up to wrap her paws around you for a squeeze. She just has a lot of love to give and prefers to deliver it in large, joyful doses.
Heidi gets along well with other dogs, loves to stay active, and brings a big, goofy energy everywhere she goes. If you’re looking for a dog who will make you laugh, keep you moving, and hug you like she hasn’t seen you in years, Heidi is ready to apply for the job. She is up to date on vaccinations and has been spayed.

More about this rescue
We are a volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill shelter.
Visit our website at HeartofRI.org for an in depth view of our policies, procedures, fees, and exactly what they include.
Unfortunately, due to past issues with landlords/housing/insurance, a restricted breed policy is in place for Bully breed/Pit Bull type dogs. This means that you must own your home and provide proof of homeownership to adopt a Bully breed/Pit Bull dog or puppy. While we understand that this may be an inconvenience, it is necessary to help reduce the number of devastated dogs being returned. We apologize for the inconvenience.
