Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mocha🤎🩵— A Precious Momma With a Rough Start in Life, Hoping For a Forever Family🌼
Here are more photo & videos of Mocha: https://www.instagram.com/p/DU90dZ6EW9O/?hl=en

Mocha was a pregnant stray who gave birth to her babies at the Icheon Municipal Shelter. Fortunately, all of her babies were rescued, but unfortunately for Mocha, she was left behind. In Korea, puppies and younger dogs are saved over older dogs due their higher chance of adoption. Thankfully, Mocha was rescued before euthanasia. After that, she has been fostered for over three years without one single inquiry for adoption in Korea. In Korea, mix breeds, older, and abandoned dogs are stigmatized and face very little chance of adoption. Once her foster can’t foster anymore, she will have to be moved back to the rescue center, leaving a home life behind.

Name: Mocha
Age: 7 years old
Gender: Female
Weight: 22 lbs
Spayed: Yes

Good with dogs?
She is friendly and gets along well with other dogs, although she is a bit afraid of bigger dogs. Her foster takes her to doggy daycare, and her social skills are improving.

Good with cats?
She has no interest in cats
Good with kids?
She has not met children yet

Sociability with people
Men: She is very shy around men and tends to feel a bit scared. Women: She may be shy at first, but she slowly becomes more comfortable over time.

Potty trained? Yes, outdoor potty

Good on leash?
She does not pull much. The shorter the leash is held, the more she naturally matches her handler’s pace and walks nicely alongside.

Barker?
No. Other than occasional barking when she is very excited or playful, she is generally quiet.

Separation anxiety?
No

Mouthiness / Nipping?
None

Behavioral issues
She tends to get carsick and is afraid of plastic bag noises, plastic bottle sounds, and vacuum cleaners

Health Notes
No known health issues

Personality / Habits
She enjoys sleeping together on the same bed with her person

Things she loves
She absolutely loves being petted! Recently, she has also been enjoying nose work toys.

Ideal family
A family who can take her on frequent walks, patiently help her get used to cars or public transportation, and give her time to adjust at her own pace.

Mocha is timid and takes time to warm up to new people, which reflects her cautious and gentle nature. Once she builds trust, she becomes incredibly affectionate. She loves being with her person and will make a wonderful, loving companion. She eats her meals and treats very well and especially loves fruit!

This special girl is ready find her forever family!🌟💗

Mocha's adoption fee is reduced- $550, plus $240 for US customs entry and broker fee.

More about this rescue

A 501(c)(3) Non-profit
Seattle, WA
Volunteer- run, foster-based animal rescue

Love Is Mighty Rescue was founded on the principle that all animals deserve respect, kindness, and compassion.

Based in Seattle, WA, Love Is Mighty Rescue is a foster- based animal rescue dedicated to helping dogs from South Korea who have endured abuse, abandonment, crisis, high-kill shelters, puppy mills, and the dog meat trade find forever loving homes. While our primary focus is on South Korean rescues, we also aim to rescue dogs locally, and plan to expand these efforts as we grow. We are dedicated to promoting compassion, kindness, and respect for all animals.

Partnered with South Korea rescue we help dogs facing crisis, abuse, abandonment, and the cruelty of the dog meat trade find safe, forever loving homes through responsible adoption. Our Korean dogs have been rescued from heartbreaking circumstances — puppy mills, high-kill shelters, life outside in chains, abandonment, harsh weather conditions, wildfires, dog meat farms, and slaughter houses.

Many have endured unimaginable hardship, and we are dedicated to helping them find the warmth, care, and love they deserve in a forever home. Because of social stigma in Korea and the strong preference for small purebred dogs, mixed-breed, larger, and abandoned dogs are often overlooked and face very little chance of being adopted. Together, we can give these dogs the chance to thrive, and their hearts the chance to heal from the trauma of their past.

All of our adoptable rescue dogs have received full veterinary checkups, are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccinations, have had dental scaling, have undergone any known necessary medical treatments or surgeries, and are microchipped. Our dogs fly in with caring flight volunteers who ensure they travel safely to their destination. Some have already spent time with foster families in Korea and are now ready to find their forever homes in the US.

We make every effort to match the right dog with the right family—the best fit for both—aiming to build happy, lifelong bonds and forever homes for our rescue dogs.
