Hi, I’m Nela. It’s nice to meet you. My story started in a home with a lot of other animals—more than 15 cats, actually. While I did get along with them (we even slept together, played, groomed each other, and did the classic nose-boop greetings), my previous home wasn’t able to give me the proper care and attention I deserved. So now I’m here, hoping to find a family where I can truly thrive. The people who knew me before say I’m a friendly, affectionate, and playful girl. I absolutely love being around my humans—pets are always welcome, and I’m a big fan of lap time too. You can even pick me up for cuddles! If I’m ever not in the mood, I’ll simply hop down and go about my day. Easy, right? My belly is a bit of a “look but don’t touch” zone, but everywhere else is fair game for affection. When it’s time to play, my favourite toys are little mice, and I’m always ready for some fun. But what my previous family loved most about me was just how friendly and loving I am. Right now in the shelter, I’m feeling very shy and a little scared. It’s loud, busy, and completely new to me, so I might hiss if I’m feeling overwhelmed. It’s not because I’m mean—it’s just my way of saying I’m nervous in such a big, unfamiliar place. With a little patience and kindness, my true sweet personality will shine again. What I’m really hoping for is a calm, loving home where I can feel safe, get lots of affection, and spend my days being the friendly companion I’m meant to be. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate cat who loves people and cuddles, I think we might be the perfect match.
