My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Evie, a beautiful 5-year-old Holland Lop with a lot of love and a lot of personality! She can shy and timid in new situations, but after she`s given some time to adjust, her confidence skyrockets and she`s ready to explore the world around her. The fastest way to cuddles, happy hops, and binkies is a little patience and a lot of hay. Once she`s comfortable with you, you`ll know by the way she stomps and huffs, demanding more fresh veggies and pets from you.

Evie does not like to be picked up, as she is an adventurous gal that dislikes having the opportunity to explore away from her. She is litter trained, but has a particular preference for rabbit pellets to be used in her box. She is a big fan of fresh veggies and fruits, and will take them from your hand if she`s comfortable around you. Her favorite toys are balls, stacking cups, and other things she can push around or explore, and prefers to do this on carpet so she can have traction in case she gets the zoomies. She`s lived with cats and dogs, and gotten so comfortable with them that she`d groom their fur and cuddle them! She`s good with strangers too, and likes to check them out and get herself some free pets from the exchange. If you`ve got the perfect home for this sweet, sassy, and silly rabbit, come visit her at SPCA Cincinnati today!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We are offering adoptions at our shelter from 12 noon - 6 p.m. daily. Our dog and cat adoption areas are open for walk-throughs every day. We are dedicated to making our shelter a pleasant environment for the animals and our guests. Adoption fees waived (FREE) for animals 6+ years old! Find your furever friend today...

If you are interested in adopting, check out the available animals on this website by using the tabs to the left or by clicking here for up-to-date information on pets currently available for adoption.

Adopters must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license or government-issued ID, provide payment, and be required to sign the adoption contract.

We cannot finalize adoptions over the phone or online. This is a family decision; everyone in the adopter’s household is encouraged to meet the animal at the shelter. The actual adoption visit takes place in designated areas and typically lasts 10-15 minutes. During this time, you will be able to spend some quality time getting to know the animal and deciding if they are a match for your home. At the end of the visit, if it’s a match, GREAT! In keeping with the desire to limit visits, our expectations are that you are prepared to take the animal home the same day. If you are interested in adopting a dog, and you have a dog (or dogs) at home, they must successfully meet each other before completing the adoption.

More about this shelter

The SPCA Cincinnati is your Cincinnati Hometown Humane Society and has been for 150 years. When you ask, “Who is the SPCA near me?”, you’ll find us, with solutions for everything animal-related — from pet adoptions to vaccination clinics. We provide compassionate care for any animals that come to us, from food to medical care, exercise, enrichment, and love to get them ready to go to their new homes.

We are the pet placement experts locally and across our nation, making the SPCA Cincinnati the place to go for adopting cats and dogs, as well as small animals.

We do all we can to support people so that pet surrender is a last resort, such as providing pet food donations for those under financial strain and behavioral training. We partner with human social service agencies to keep pets in their current homes and to improve their quality of life. We value innovative educational techniques to keep pets and families together, enrich shelter life, promote the humane treatment of all animals, and prevent pet overpopulation.

Our work is made possible through the compassion and generosity of donors — caring friends like you.
