Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This girl is as sweet as Apple Pie! When you enter into the room with her, she'll pop out of wherever she's laying to approach you with some purrs and big stretches. She'll settle right onto your lap when you sit down, and loves to snuggle right into your neck like a scarf. She's an expert biscuit maker, and very gentle and mindful with her claws. Her favorite way to play? Carrying her toys around the house in her mouth, proudly showing off her successful hunt. Apple Pie might just be the perfect cat!

We have worked hard to make our adoption process as easy as possible. We like to think of the process in four steps: application, phone conversation, meet and greet and adoption day. We will get back to applicants within a few days even if they were not chosen.

More about this rescue

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.

Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
