My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cornelius! This handsome house panther was found as a stray and his history is unknown. What is known is that this big boy has an equally big heart full of love to share. He's incredibly sweet with a musical little meow. This sweet guy is fairly shy and anxious at first in a new environment and would probably do best in a bit of a quieter home without young kids. Given time to adjust and gentle reassurance Cornelius will soon show you all the love he has to share and how affectionate and friendly he can be. He loves attention, almost as much as he loves comfy spots for long cat naps. Cornelius enjoys some good cheek rubs and back scratches and will let you know when it's time for cat cuddles. He's definitely very sweet and will make a loving companion. He likes to have a safe place to hide at first until he feels comfortable in his surroundings. We're not sure if Cornelius has lived around other animals before so testing and very slow, proper introductions would be important.
When he came to the SPCA it was noted that Cornelius was pulling the hair out on his back which seems to be due to possible allergies. He is currently on a allergy diet trial to help resolve this and is only available for Foster To Adopt currently. Potential adopters can ask for more information. Cornelius will likely have to stay on a special allergy food for the rest of his life and adopters should be prepared to manage this.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:
