At just nine months old, Binky is exactly what a young rabbit should be: curious, playful, and always on the move. True to his name, he loves to hop, zoom, and occasionally burst into joyful little “binkies” — those happy bunny jumps that seem to come out of nowhere when a rabbit is feeling especially good.
Binky is still a youngster and the world is full of exciting things to investigate. Cardboard tunnels, cozy hideouts, and open space to run are all high on his list of favorite things. He’s an active little guy who thrives when he has room to stretch his legs and explore safely.
When it comes to handling, Binky is still learning that people can be trusted. Like many rabbits, being picked up can make him feel a bit unsure, so he may squirm to get back to solid ground. This is very normal for rabbits — they’re prey animals by nature and often feel safest with all four paws on the floor. With time, patience, and gentle interactions at his level, Binky will continue to build confidence with his humans.
If you’re new to rabbits, it helps to know they’re intelligent, social animals who do best with plenty of enrichment and space to play. Rabbits aren’t usually “lap pets” in the traditional sense, but they form wonderful bonds with their people in their own way. Many prefer affection that happens on their terms — sitting beside you, nudging for attention, or flopping down nearby once they feel comfortable.
A happy rabbit life includes:
Lots of space to hop and explore (bunny-proofed rooms or large pens are ideal)
A hay-based diet, with fresh greens and rabbit-safe veggies
Chew toys and tunnels to keep busy minds engaged
Gentle, patient companionship while trust grows
With his playful personality and bright curiosity, Binky would make a wonderful companion for someone ready to enjoy the lively, charming world of rabbits. Give him space to run, time to grow confident, and plenty of love, and you’ll get to watch this little bunny blossom.
If you’re looking for a joyful, energetic friend who will keep you smiling with every hop, Binky is ready to bounce his way into your heart. Please complete an adoption application:
Binky has an upcoming appointment to be neutered. He will be ready to go to his forever home after this surgery.
Animal adoptions and viewing are by appointment only. This allows our Adoption Staff to spend quality time with each potential home to ensure the most successful matches are made between the animals and their new families.
*Please note: we only adopt within Ontario
