Dog/Puppy Adoption Fees are $140 for Puppies under 1 year, $110 for Adults 1 to 6 years, and $95 for Adults over 6 years. Includes; Spay/Neuter, DA2PPV, Bordetella and Rabies Vaccinations (if age appropriate) and includes indicating tags, Heartworm Testing, Deworming, and Flea Treatment if needed. Cat/Kitten Adoption Fees are $45 and includes; Spay/Neuter, FVRCP and Rabies Vaccinations (if age appropriate) and includes indicating tags, FIV/Felv Testing, Deworming, and Flea Treatment if needed.

The Blount County Animal Shelter, housed within the Blount County Animal Center Complex, has been protecting and assuring the welfare of both animals and people of Blount County, Tennessee since November of 2009. Stray Animals Stray animals will be held at the shelter for a minimum of three days, but pets with tags will be held for five days to give owners a chance to claim them. After the holding period, the animals are available for adoption. The shelter euthanizes an animal only if absolutely necessary (public danger or liability, damaged beyond repair, behavioral issues, etc.).
