My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bugs Bunny’s story is one of resilience, love, and a second chance.

This sweet girl arrived at the shelter with her babies, and like the wonderful mama she is, she cared for them until they were all ready to find homes of their own. One by one, her kittens were adopted… but Bugs Bunny is still patiently waiting for someone to choose her.

Since coming to the shelter, Bugs Bunny has been through quite a journey. She came in with “happy tail,” Despite multiple treatments and vet visits, complications meant her tail ultimately had to be amputated. The good news is she has healed beautifully and is feeling much better now! Her little nub just adds to her charm.

Bugs Bunny does get stressed in a kennel environment, which makes shelter life a little tough for her. When you first meet her, she may seem a bit nervous while she takes a moment to figure things out. But once she realizes she’s safe, her true personality shines through. She is incredibly sweet, gentle, and affectionate — the kind of cat who just wants love and a quiet place to feel at home.

After everything she’s been through, Bugs Bunny deserves a calm, caring home where she can finally relax and be someone’s beloved companion. If you’re looking for a loving cat with a big heart and an inspiring story, Bugs Bunny might be the perfect addition to your family.

More about this shelter

Animals Are Our Mission

Over 1,100 animals pass through our doors every year. Did you know that the average cost to get our animals ready to be adoptable is roughly $350 per animal? That is because we require our adoptables to be spayed/neutered and fully vaccinated before adopting out.

Population control and disease management are issues in our community that we are working hard to resolve. Your donations help ensure we can continue our mission.

We have an amazing team of hard working staff caring for our animals 7 days a week. They are supported by a group of engaged board members that are focused on bettering our organization.
