My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Raya
Fostered in: London, On
Vaccinated & Spayed
DSH- Torti
Adoption Fee: $250

Raya is the beautiful brown girl of the pair and she’s looking for a loving home where she can relax and be her sweet, gentle self. She may not be the biggest fan of being picked up or cuddled, but she absolutely loves gentle head pets and chin scratches — once you start, she’ll happily lean in for more.
Raya is a very sweet girl with a calm personality and would make a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a cat that enjoys affection on her own terms. She’s the quieter one and tends to let Beans (her foster sibling) take the lead. Raya would likely enjoy a home where she can feel comfortable and relaxed.
She may not answer to her name yet, but she makes up for it with her loving nature and gentle presence. Raya is also kid-friendly as long as boundaries are respected, making her a great addition to a family that understands cats and their space.
Raya is litter trained and was around dogs in her previous home and had no issues. She is a wonderful, sweet kitty who deserves a home where she can be loved forever 🩷
If you’re looking for a gentle companion who enjoys pets, chin scratches, and a cozy place to call her own, Raya might just be your girl.

More about this rescue

Baladi & Sled Dog Rescue of Ontario is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, providing veterinary care, and finding loving homes for dogs from the dog sledding industry. We also extend our reach locally by rescuing stray dogs and cats from Indigenous communities that we partner with.

Our rescue began saving street dogs and cats, AKA Baladis, in Egypt. Since the important on animals ban implemented in 2022, we are no longer allowed to bring animals into Canada from Egypt. Our efforts, however, expand globally, as we continue to help support the placement of Baladi's in Egyptian shelters.
