Their adoption process

Due to COVID-19, Newberg Animal Shelter is not open for walk-ins. Please view our available pets on our website, newberganimals.com. If a pet is listed as available at PetSmart, you can go directly to that PetSmart to adopt (call to verify availability first). If you are interested in a pet that is available in our shelter, you will need to submit an adoption application to be considered. We are receiving multiple applications on every pet. If we do not call you to do an adoption, please do not consider it a rejection. We simply have a lot of applications coming in and very limited staff. Adoption Applications do not place holds on pets, nor do we do pre-adoptions. Rather than doing first-come-first-serve adoptions, Newberg Animal Shelter considers all applications and chooses the home that is the best fit for that particular pet. We want the adoptions to be happy and successful for the family and the pets. Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, and at least their first set of vaccines, and microchip. Puppies: $275-$600 Young Dogs: $240-$400 Adult Dogs: $100-$250 Senior or Special Needs Dogs: $100-$225 Long-term Resident Dogs: $60-$100 Kittens: $150-$200 Young Cats (1-2yo): $100-$175 Adult Cats (2+): $100-$125 Senior or Special Needs Cats: $75 Long-term Resident Cats: $40
