Their adoption process

We are open for walk-throughs so you can meet your new family member face-to-adorable face! You may either come in and walk-through or visit our Available Pets page and select a few that you would like to meet. Then download an Adoption Survey and fill it out prior to visiting our shelter. Our adoption process is a walk-up, first-come, first-served system. You will have a meet and greet with an Adoption Counselor to discuss your survey, review information on the pets you would like to meet, and you will be introduced to the pet(s).If the Meet and Greet is a success, staff will complete your adoption paperwork to make it official! Your new pet will be able to go home with you the same day! For more detailed information and instructions, please visit our How to Adopt page here: https://www.kitsap-humane.org/adopt/how-to-adopt/

More about this shelter

Kitsap Humane Society is a private, nonprofit animal shelter. We rescue and rehome over 6000 pets each year. Every dog or cat leaves our shelter spayed or neutered and with complete vaccines and a microchip. We have been caring for animals in need since 1908 and envision a time when all adoptable pets have loving homes. We are extremely proud of our exceptionally high “lives saved” rate of over 96%. Through our active adoption, behavior, foster, transfer, and veterinary programs, we are able to rehome every adoptable animal that enters our facility. No animal is ever euthanized for lack of space. In addition to caring for and adopting animals, we also provide spay/neuter services to low income residents of Kitsap County, and provide Animal Rescue and Enforcement services to our surrounding municipalities.
