The Los Banos Animal Shelter is a small, community-based shelter located in Los Banos, California, proudly operated by the Los Banos Police Department. Our mission is to provide safe, compassionate care for animals in need while working to reunite lost pets with their families and find loving homes for those waiting for adoption. Our shelter includes 28 dog kennels and 15 cat kennels, allowing us to provide individualized attention and daily care for each animal. We are staffed by a dedicated team of two Animal Control Officers and two Kennel Attendants who are committed to the health, safety, and well-being of every animal that comes through our doors. As a small shelter with limited resources, we rely on dedication, teamwork, and strong community partnerships. We work closely with 501(c)(3) rescue organizations, which are able to pull animals from our shelter and help place them into adoptive homes. While our space and resources may be modest, our commitment to humane care and second chances is strong.
