Their adoption process

Details about our adoption process, fees, discounts and specials can be found on our website.

Adoption steps

  1. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
    1. We have daily adoption hours (please check our website for holiday changes), and no appointment is required.
  2. Meet the Pet
    1. Walk through the dog and cat adoption areas, and when a pet tugs on your heart strings, we encourage you to speak with an adoption counselor
  3. Interview
    1. Our adoption process is fully conversational. Your adoption counselor will use your conversation as a guide and recommend pets accordingly.
  4. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. You'll be asked to show proof of your address.
  5. Pay Fee
    1. Check out in our Lora Robins Gift shop where essential supplies for your new companion are available for purchase.
  6. Take the Pet Home
    1. You'll take your new companion home the same day. Expert behavior support is available by calling 804-643-7722.
